Amazon App: shop, browse, scan, compare, and read reviews
even non-techie’s like Amazon. It didn’t make it to be the retail giant it is without some serious user adoption. This app is great for iPhone learners because it has several cool features, including a barcode scanner to save items for later.

Backgrounds
the default iPhone wallpapers just aren’t exciting enough. Especially, since my friend is an art teacher. There are multiple wallpaper apps but this is the one we opted to start out with.
Bizzy for iPhone
if you’re in my social circle this app will be on your phone. Especially, if you’ve been friends with me for 11 years. It’s funny we are great friends but her Bizzy list of favorite places is quite different than mine. She has more shopping favorites and I have more foodie places.
Chase Mobile℠
love this app as a quick way to access your money AND deposit checks if you have Chase bank.
Doodle Buddy – Paint, Draw, Scribble, Sketch – It’s Addictive!
this one is just for fun. Since she is an art teacher I thought she’d like to be able to doodle with her new iPhone. You can also doodle on top of photos from your camera or photo library, so that’s fun.
Foursquare – Find Places to Eat, Drink, and Visit
she still isn’t a foursquare adopter (we are working on wearing her down) but she has used foursquare occasionally at places where she gets deals for checking in – mainly the Gap.
Grocery iQ
I was raving about this app to her before she was even planning on joining the iPhone cult. A great dynamic grocery list, including barcode scanner.

Happy Hours
single girls, particularly teachers, like to know where they can get their drink on for cheap
MapQuest: Free Navigation, GPS, Maps & Traffic
the default iPhone map app requires you look at your phone for directions WHILE driving… not safe. MapQuest reads your directions to you. Oh and it’s free.
