Fresh iPhone Games for Nov. 5: Crash Curling, FruitCup, Alchemedes!

Today’s Fresh Games list is topped by a curling simulator that seems to mix in elements of miniature golf. Take a look at it, a free Bejeweled clone and another interesting offering below.

Crash Curling (iPhone) $1.99

Everybody’s favorite Winter Olympic sport hits the iPhone with this goofy game, which puts curling in a variety of different settings and utilizes real-world physics.

Crash Curling might be better described as a miniature golf-curling hybrid, as it requires players to throw the stone (that rock that goes down the ice) and then sweep in front of it (like you’ve seen on TV) in order to help the stone avoid obstacles. Crash Curling has 18 different levels over six different settings, and all of them seem to be pretty interesting. Check it out.

FruitCup (iPhone) Free

FruitCup is a lot like Bejeweled, the puzzle game in which you maneuver jewels of different colors into groups to eliminate them. FruitCup has basically the same premise, except instead of jewels, it employs different kinds of fruit instead. The game also employs a few unique features of its own to change up the gameplay — namely “juicers,” “slicers” and “blenders” that help clear out lots of fruit at once.

Best of all, it’s free.

Alchemedes! (iPhone) $0.99

You might remember the premise of this puzzler from old games back in the early days of computer games — or from Die Hard 3. Alchemedes! asks you to move liquids from beakers of various sizes, with the goal being to change the liquids around in order to get the amount of liquid required by the puzzle.

The puzzles get progressively harder as more and more beakers are added, requiring you to think steps ahead to get the right liquid amounts. You get 150 levels for just a buck, which makes it seem like you won’t be running out of puzzles containing alchemy anytime soon.
