The wait is over — the newest 15-level themed update for Angry Birds Seasons is here, complete with all the green-drenched St. Patrick’s Day goodness you’ve been waiting for. We’ve also got a couple of cool, bite-size dollar games: endless runner Air Supply – 1bit Run, and the six-in-one Hero: 108. Check out all three below.
Angry Birds Seasons update (iPhone, iPad) $0.99
It’s time for another holiday, and so new levels for Angry Birds Seasons are upon us. Like the last update for Valentine’s Day in February, and the Yuletide and Halloween updates before it, the game features new themes and 15 new levels to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with bird-flinging, pig-squashing physics puzzler fun.
In addition to the 15 new stages, this update to Seasons packs new achievements and two new Golden Eggs to find hidden in the game. There are also pots of gold scattered through the levels that earn you more points, and Seasons packs the ability to send St. Patrick’s Day Angry Birds e-cards to friends and family.
Hero: 108 (iPhone, iPad) $0.99
Six mini-games reside within Hero: 108, each with a different theme and a different way of playing them. The games include air hockey and whack-a-mole, as well as a tapping game in which you have to knock down arrows before they land on a comrade; a game in which you need to wait for a clear path through some birds to send your character up to hit a huge eagle and defeat it; a tapping game in which you speedily pound away at a rhino before he runs you over; and a fast-reaction game in which you have to tap an enemy before he hits you.
All the games are pretty short, giving you bite-sized gaming for when you’ve only got a minute or two to play. Hero: 108 also has a very cool art style that’ll keep you engaged.
Air Supply – 1bit Run (iPhone, iPad) $0.99
You’ve seen endless running games before, but probably none so super-simplified in art style as Air Supply. The “1bit” part in its title refers to the scaled down, black-and-white graphics that use single lines and are super-simple. You play a lost space trader on the run from aliens, armed with only a laser pistol and an energetic desperation. As you run, you’ll have to fight off aliens on foot and in ships.
The cool thing about Air Supply is that you’re lacking, you know, an air supply. You’re running in the thin atmosphere of another planet, and so in addition to dodging enemies and blasting your way through their ranks, you’ll also have to collect oxygen by jumping up and grabbing bubbles. There are also stars you can collect over several playthroughs to unlock additional content.
