Fresh iPhone Games for Dec. 1: Sentinel 3, League of Epic Heroes, Fragger update

Our Fresh Games list today features a high-quality new tower defense app, an old-school dungeon-crawling RPG, plus a big update to the popular puzzler Fragger. Read all about them below.

Sentinel 3: Homeworld (iPhone) $3.99

The latest in the Sentinel series of tower defense games is the also the franchise’s largest, spanning 20 levels and multiple game modes, plus endless survival modes for every single map in the game.

Sentinel 3 has an extremely cool look, especially on retina displays, and supports achievements leaderboards from both OpenFeint and Game Center. If you like tower defense at all, check out this game — you might be witnessing a new standard in the genre on iPhone.

League of Epic Heroes (iPhone, iPad) $1.99

Here’s a deep RPG/puzzler in the classic, dungeon-crawling loot-snagging enemy-hacking style. Featuring randomly generated dungeons to keep each crawl fresh, League includes 12 distinct player classes to allow players to dive into the game with their own personal play style.

League also includes Game Center support for class leaderboards and achievements, as well as free content updates and the ability to play short rounds, save them, and return to them later. Another cool feature: you can run your own soundtrack of iTunes tracks while you play.

Fragger update (iPhone) $0.99

The game makers at Miniclip.com are handing out Christmas gifts of the grenade-chucking kind, in the form of 30 new levels and a Christmas-themed world to play through.

Fragger’s got a ton of five-star reviews in the App Store. It’s a puzzler not unlike something like Angry Birds, in which players help aim their soldier’s grenade throws to take out targets in tough-to-navigate levels. There are already lots of levels in the game, as well as Game Center integration, and now Fragger offers even more — all for a buck.
