Document your weekend adventures with Blogger, today’s leading fresh iPhone app. The app lets you post to your blog from anywhere you can get a 3G Internet connection, and if you need to do any research along the way, you can use Dolphin Browser, a mobile web browser you can navigate using gestures. In games, you’ll work to survive the zombie apocalypse and solve puzzles in Dead Escape. There’s also Radballs, a Tetris-like puzzle title that’s all about making combinations of colored balls to score points.
Blogger (iPhone, iPad) Free
Finally, the official app for Google’s free online blogging service, Blogger, has hit the iTunes App Store. Apple device owners can log into their Blogger accounts and edit posts, put together new posts on the fly with pictures, either from your device’s camera roll, or by taking photos from within the app.
You can also add labels to posts and affix a stamp that includes the location from which you’re posting by using your iPhone or iPad’s GPS technology. Blogger lets you save drafts to post later, and you can cycle through all your posts from within the app.
Dolphin Browser (iPhone, iPad) Free
There are quite a few mobile browsers in the App Store, but Dolphin Browser stands apart. Not only does it include tabbed browsing and other staples of useful mobile browsers, it also includes a customizable control method, allowing you to draw simple doodles to move pages forward or visit bookmarks. Hit the “Gesture” button at the bottom of the screen to get access to the drawing pad, where you can enter your gestures. Hit it again to go back to regular browsing.
Dolphin also includes two sidebars that allow users to quickly access bookmarks, a speed dial section that allows you to quickly access sites you use a lot, and a desktop mode you can toggle on and off to switch between the regular and mobile versions of websites.
Dead Escape (iPhone, iPad) $1.99
One part zombie survival game, one part 3-D puzzle adventure, Dead Escape puts players in the middle of a zombie story in which you and some survivors are trapped in a convenience store when the outbreak begins. In order to get everyone out safely, you’ll have to find an exit, solving environmental puzzles along the way by finding objects that can be useful.
You’ll collect more than 50 items through the course of the game in order to solve puzzles. The game carries 3-D graphics and spoken dialog maintained throughout to deliver its zombie horror story.
Radballs (iPhone, iPad) $2.99
Puzzler Radballs has similarities to games like Bejeweled and Tetris. The game is all about clearing out various colored “radballs” as quickly as possible in order to pump up your “rad bar” in order to finish each level and score lots of points. You clear radballs by grouping them together into squares and rectangles, which get cleared as a bar descends from the top of the screen at regular intervals. The quicker you put squares together, the more points you earn.
Radballs supports using your own iPod music when you play, and includes three different game modes – a level-by-level arcade mode, a survival mode in which you play for as long as you can manage, and a time trial mode in which you’ll see how much you can score before time is up. It also features Game Center support and the ability to connect to Facebook.
