Get your social network on with today’s Fresh iPhone Apps. Up first is Floop, an app that’s all about voting on various topics, and seeing what other users think of the same questions. Next up is Google Plus Photo Importer, which integrates with your other social networks, like Instagram, Facebook and Flickr, to quickly import photos to your Google+ account through the cloud. Over in games, Food Chain provides a multiplayer Tetris-like experience, and Tapsteroids will have you tapping away furiously at your iPhone screen in order to destroy as many asteroids as you can, as quickly as you can.
Floop (iPhone, iPad) Free
Floop is a social polling app that lets users answer simple questions and find out what others think of different subjects. Tap one of Floop’s questions and you can vote on the answer, with questions such as “Will Apple launched the iPhone 5 this year?” or “Are you afraid of flying?” After casting your vote, you can check out the stats that show what other users think, and how their opinions compare to your own.
The app is constantly updated with “hot” lists of topics and events depending on what’s going on, and it’ll show you the results of how users are voting on questions in real-time graphs. You can also check out answers in group chats and share photos with other users.
Google Plus Photo Importer (iPhone, iPad) Free
Built for speed in uploads, Google Plus Photo Importer lets you fire tons of images to your Google+ account quickly. The app can move 100 photos in less than a minute, and works by drawing images from your other social networking accounts to populate Google+ – including Flickr, Facebook, Instagram and Photobucket.
All of Google Plus Photo Importer’s transfers are based in the cloud, so they won’t affect your device’s data usage over 3G; you just give the app the information for your accounts and it does the transferring for you. You can send multiple photo albums at once, and the app also lets you import all the photos’ meta data, including photo titles and captions.
Food Chain (iPhone, iPad) Free
If you’re an old-school Tetris fan, you’ll recognize the mechanics behind Food Chain. The game is a lot like Tetris Attack, a multiplayer game in which puzzle fans compete against each other as they try to clear blocks from the screen. In Food Chain, the goal is to move different-colored blocks around the screen by reversing their positions (kind of like Bejeweled), trying to make groups of three or more in vertical columns or horizontal rows. That clears the blocks out, and the goal is to keep the screen from filling up by clearing them as quickly as possible.
Food Chain is a multiplayer game, and even in its single-player campaign, you’ll be playing Tetris-style arcade puzzles against boss characters. The more combos you create, the more blocks you can dump on your opponent’s screen – and vice versa.
Tapsteroids (iPhone, iPad) $0.99
Spaceships need to land at your space station (or planet) in Tapsteroids, but they need defending, too. There are asteroids flying around in the area, threatening to take out approaching ships, and it’s your job to blast away at the rocks to protect them. Your shots are fired by tapping away at the asteroids to fire missiles at them. You’ll need to act fast and be accurate in your taps in order to destroy the asteroids before they destroy your ships.
Tapsteroids features four weapons you can earn, and the game will create infinite levels for you to play through that grow more and more difficult as time goes on. There are two different campaign modes to get through, and Tapsteroids features Game Center support, which provides achievements and online leaderboards on which you can track your high scores.
