Fresh iPhone Apps for Nov. 15: UberTwitter, Target for iPad, Demotivational Creator

Heading up today’s Fresh Apps is a cool new Twitter client that makes checking out links from your Twitter feed a little easier. Read about that, and a couple of other cool apps, in the list below.

UberTwitter (iPhone) Free

Here’s a free Twitter client that supports all the usual features of Twitter, like direct messages, lists and searches, neatly arranged in tabs at the bottom of the app. It’s a nice, clean interface that makes it easy to navigate.

The app also includes a very cool feature called “UberView,” which allows you to check out links in a separate pane right in the app. It’s a nice alternative to other Twitter clients — which send you to the browser every time you tap a link — and lets you avoid having to load another app to see what your friends and followers find interesting.

Target for iPad Free

The online version of Target Stores’ weekly ad can be a pretty handy resource for tracking down deals each week, on items ranging from food to new release DVDs. Now you can check each week’s ad on your iPad, in a format that allows for some customization, personalization, and planning for upcoming shopping.

In addition to replicating each week’s ad in a searchable, page-by-page format just like the paper copy you’d receive in the Sunday newspaper, Target for iPad lets users drop items they’re interested in onto a list that the app saves — basically generating a custom shopping list. You can also add more generic entries to the list (“butter” and “eggs,” for example), allowing you to plan out your next trip to Target all from one place. And, if what you’re looking for isn’t available in stores or isn’t part of the weekly ad, you can still search Target.com and make purchases straight out of the app.

Demotivational Creator (iPhone) $0.99

We’ve all seen that series of motivational posters — the ones with the big black border that have a single boldface word at the bottom, like “TEAMWORK” or “PERSEVERANCE,” followed by an inspiring quote. And most of us who wander around the Internet a fair amount have seen the motivational poster’s humorous web-based counterpart, the demotivational poster. Those generally are created by different Internet users in the same style as the motivational series, but carry a less-than-inspiring slant.

Demotivational Creator is a quick and easy way to whip up your own demotivational posters using photos from your iPhone and add the humorous text in the demotivational style. It only takes a second, and when you’re done, you can save the final image on your phone and share it on Facebook.
