Fresh iPhone Apps for Mar. 30: Tiger Woods: My Swing, Tiny Planet Photos, FlickFx

The recent release of Tiger Woods Pro Tour 12 might have a few iOS gaming fans thinking about their own golf swings. Enter Tiger Woods, again — this time with Tiger Woods: My Swing, an app built to use your device’s camera to help analyze your swing and make you a better golfer. Check it out below, along with a couple of photo editing apps that are both easy to use and deliciously free.

Tiger Woods: My Swing (iPhone, iPad 2) $9.99

Golfers, have you got swing problems? Tiger Woods can help. Using your iPhone or iPad’s camera, the app will analyze your golf swing or that of your friends and help you make adjustments. You’ll even get audio pointers from Tiger himself.

My Swing includes video from Woods showing you different swing techniques to help you improve your own, and can record your own swing in slow-motion and save audio notes with the video to help you improve. You can compare your swing with Tiger’s side-by-side, and you can even draw lines on your images and videos to help you make decisions about your technique.

Tiny Planet Photos (iPhone, iPad) Free

Want to see something cool? Grab Tiny Planet Photos for free from the App Store and start warping your photos. The app specializes in rolling your photos into circles, like planets, also known as stereographic projections. The effect is interesting, creating a totally different way to look at the images you’re capturing.

Once you’ve got your planet photo (or try reversing your photos to make tubes), you can save it to you camera and share it with others via email, Facebook and Twitter. You can take new pictures from within the app to start distorting them right away. The app supports all kinds of photos, from standard to panoramic, so you can make stereographic projections out of any images you have on your iDevice.

FlickFx (iPhone, iPad) Free

Speaking of photo editing for free, there’s also FlickFx, an app that uses flick touchscreen motions to make changes to your photos. The app packs a wealth of different effects that you can turn on and off with a flick on photos you take or import from your device’s camera roll, and once you’ve found the effects you’re happy with, you can adjust their degree with simple sliders.

There are 30 different effects to mess with in FlickFx, and they can be quickly mixed and matched with just a couple of taps and flicks. The only thing FlickFx is lacking is a strong means of sharing your work, like Facebook and Twitter integration, beyond just saving it when you’re done. That’s a quibble though, given the app’s price tag.
