SPIN Play (iPad) Free
From the publisher of SPIN magazine comes SPIN Play, an iPad-only version of SPIN designed to help you find new music. With each issue comes 60 streaming songs and 30 streaming videos on lists that have been curated by SPIN editors specifically to introduce readers to new bands and trends. The rest of the magazine has been reworked specifically for the iPad.
SPIN Play issues go for $1.99 each, or $7.99 for a year’s subscription. Along with the magazine and the music come news updates from the world of music to keep you up on the latest. It’s all integrated with social networks, too, so you can share interesting stories and songs on Facebook and Twitter, or via email.
Everyday (iPhone) $1.99
Inspired by a photo art project of the same name, Everyday is a social networking photography app that encourages you to take a picture of your face every day. The more photos you take, the more changes in your face over time become apparent. Everyday provides a grid or an overlay of your last photo to help you line up each shot, so you can easily replicate the positioning to highlight the ways your face is changing.
Once you take your photos, you can share them on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Flickr. You can even set it up so the app uploads new photos every day automatically. Everyday makes sure to remind you each day to take a photo, so you’ll never miss one.
PostalPix (iPhone, iPad) Free
Lots of apps let you take and share photos on your iPhone — but what do you do with them after they’re taken and accumulating on your Camera Roll or Facebook account? PostalPix has an answer: get prints, mailed straight to you. The app allows you to order prints of photos from popular apps like Instagram and Hipstamatic, and all you have to do is make a few choices and pay and they’re mailed to your door.
PostalPix currently supports four sizes: 8×10, 4×4 square, 4×6 and mouse pad. Each print will cost you, but the app itself is free. Once you’ve chosen the sizes you want and the photos you need, you can pay for the prints and their shipping right in the app. Photos are uploaded to PostalPix using your iPhone or iPad’s Internet connection, so bigger files work better of Wi-Fi than 3G.
