Turn fitness into a game with Push-Up Wars, an app that pits you against your friends using Facebook to see who can handle the most push-ups. It’s a novel idea (and it prevents cheating), and joins a couple of nice app updates in our Fresh Apps list today. We’ve got the skinny on all three below.

Using a Facebook account, you can turn fitness into a game. Like the title of this app suggests, Push-Up Wars encourages you to do more push-ups than your friends. Facebook lets you compare scores and try to outdo one another, as well as earn achievements through Game Center and military ranks to track your progress.
You use the app by shooting video of yourself (in order to avoid cheating) doing push-ups, and the app logs your score. The more consecutive push-ups you do, the higher your rank and your listing on the Push-Up Wars leaderboards. As you progress and become better, your rank gets higher — and of course, you get stronger.
Mobile Mouse Pro update (iPhone, iPad) $1.99
Turn your iPhone into a mouse touchpad for your computer with Mobile Mouse Pro, which lets you control a lot of aspects of your PC or Mac with your iPhone’s touchscreen. You can also use a virtual keyboard for text entry, turn your iPhone into a media and web remote, and access a whole host of other features.
Mobile Mouse’s new update adds a presentation mode, allowing you turn your mouse into a remote for changing slides and pointing out data on presentations shown on your computer. There’s also a new clipboard syncing feature that allows you to copy text on your PC or Mac and have it instantly be accessible to paste on your iPhone, along with some bug fixes to make the whole app run better.
AP Mobile update (iPhone) Free
The Associated Press’ mobile app does exactly the kinds of things you would expect from a news source: it allows you to read the articles composing the latest headlines in different categories, view photos and share articles through social networking sites. You can search through stories and find local news for your region, or read the top stories from across the globe.
AP Mobile has undergone a major fix that allows users to read articles even when not connected to the Internet, a big boon of a feature that the app formerly had, and which has since been repaired. It also has been tweaked to run better in the background on your newer iPhone or iPod Touch, downloading articles and keeping all your news fresh without requiring your attention.
