It’s almost Valentine’s Day (that’s Monday, you know), so heading up our Fresh Apps list today is Voice Valentines, an app that lets you record your own audio for e-cards. We’ve also got an update for Hipstamatic so you can take a few photos if you’ve got something romantic planned. Read about both, and more, below.
Voice Valentines (iPhone, iPad) $1.99
Produce personalized voice recordings to go in e-cards you can email to your sweetheart with Voice Valentines. Using your iPhone’s microphone, you can record a message to go in the card, as well as add a photo and a written message, if you choose. You can also select from about 12 different themes for the card, to personalize it even further.
A recent update to Voice Valentines increases your options for sharing your e-card. You can email your cards as well as share them on Facebook and Twitter, with audio being supported on both social networks. Voice Valentines also now gives the option to save a card, allowing users to return to and tweak their cards before sending them.
Hipstamatic update (iPhone) $1.99
A toy camera app that gives users all kinds of cool options for film, camera and lenses to achieve different vintage photo effects, Hipstamatic was named Apple’s Best iPhone App of 2010. There are a lot of different customization options to create old-style photos, and in-app purchases allow for even more things to switch in and out.
Hipstamatic got an update yesterday that allows for a great new feature: On iOS 4 or newer, the app will process your photos in the background, which gives you the ability to quickly snap up to nine in a row without having to wait for the app to deal with the data. There’s also a new “Camera Bag” option that lets you disable different lenses, films and flashes so they don’t appear in your options or get included in the Shake-to-Randomize feature.
Air File – File Storage (iPhone, iPad) Free
Using your local Wi-Fi network, Air File lets you transfer files from your computer to your iDevice without syncing it to your computer — basically, it’s a file transfer using your network. You can move all kinds of different files, including documents, MP4, M4V and MOV video files, as well as audio files. The app lets you access your device using an Internet browser, so it works on all operating systems.
One of the nifty things about Air File is that it lets you move files from one computer to another without much trouble, including media files. You can also email files from your iDevice using Air Transfer.
