Social networking can help you get a lot done with today’s Fresh iPhone Apps. Sundew is a question-and-answer app that lets you get answers to your questions from your friends or friends of friends, and Wenzani uses friends’ recommendations (as well as those of professionals) to help you find cool things to do around you. In games, Time Ducks mixes line-drawing gameplay with a street for animals to cross (think Frogger), plus the ability to control time; and Gaslight gives you FarmVille-like city building coupled with strategy gameplay as you fight to take over the world.
Sundew (iPhone, iPad) Free
Social networking app Sundew is all about asking questions and getting answers. The app lets you ask your friends when you need to know something. When you fire off a question to your group of friends, they can answer it, or pass it on to their own friend networks. The idea is that within a few degrees of separation, somebody will have your answer for you.
Sundew also lets you see the questions other people in your public network are asking, so you can give answers any time you might have them. You can rate the answers you receive, and other users can rate your answers, which allow you to gain ranks as a member of the community.
Wenzani (iPhone, iPad) Free
Wenzani is meant to give you the ability to find cool things to do in the world around you. The app is filled with recommendations that come from other users and your friends, as well as publishers, to create a growing guide personalized just for you and what you like.
You can make your own recommendations for great things to do within Wenzani, which helps create a guide for your friends – and when your friends make recommendations, they’re helping build out your guide. You can share your recommendations (or recommendations you think are good ones from other people) through Facebook and Twitter, and you can make comments on recommendations as well.
Time Ducks (iPhone, iPad) $1.99
Ducks need to cross the road, Frogger style, in Time Ducks. And not just ducks, but foxes, llamas and other animals, too. And you can help them by drawing lines from one side of the street to the other, providing those animals with paths to navigate traffic and get to their homes to score points. If you can’t get your animals across the road by giving them good paths, you have another tool. You can either rewind or fast-forward time to give yourself new options.
While you’re getting animals to their destinations, you’ll also have to battle local angry dogs that could catch your animals and end your games. You also, obviously, have to avoid getting your animals run over, or you’re done. Time Ducks also includes 30 achievements you can earn that will unlock special items, cars and animals to change up the game.
Gaslight (iPhone, iPad)Free
Strategy title Gaslight mixes gameplay similar to titles such as FarmVille with a steam punk-style war experience. You choose from one of two warring factions when you start the game, then start building a city that will provide you with military units so you can fight the other faction. As you add more buildings that provide you with different resources, you’ll be able to take over various territories for your faction until you finally rule the world.
Gaslight is a constant back-and-forth battle between the two factions, which will have you sending troops to explore new areas and invading different lands in order to capture the resources you need. Developer Pixofactor promises additional free updates in the coming weeks, as well.
