Photofeed by Pixable (iPhone, iPad) Free

Find your friends’ photos from all over the Internet — including Facebook, Flickr and Instagram — with Photofeed, an app built for funneling and searching through photos from your various accounts to make finding images easier. You’ll get to see your friends’ latest profile pictures and most recent uploaded photos, and other categories of shots from around the Web.

Photofeed uses quick and easy touch controls to allow you to navigate through all the photos that interest you, be they from your closest friends or acquaintances and other users. The app also lets you save your favorite photos so they’re easy to find, and share the best ones with others.

Cartoonatic (iPhone, iPad) Free

Use your iPhone 4 or iPad 2 to shoot video — but use Cartoonatic to give it some personality. The app provides you with multiple filters for your device’s video camera to make your videos look like cartoons and drawings. It’s like instantly turning everything you film into an A-Ha video, which is cooler than it sounds.

You get nine effects when you download Cartoonatic, which you can apply to your video as you shoot. Cartoonatic can also add soundtracks to your videos as you make them, then allows you to save your creation and share it on various social networks.

SciSpy (iPhone, iPad) Free

Ever wish you were a scientist? Apparently, once you fire up the Science Channel’s SciSpy app, you can become one — or at least, help one out. The app works by encouraging you to snap photos of the natural world around you, whenever you encounter an interesting living thing. Grab a shot and submit it through the app with a little information to share it with other users and research scientists.

Submitted photos automatically get date stamps and geotagging information to convey when and where they were taken. They also get classified and entered into a database at SciSpy.com, where it’s available for anyone to use in research and analysis.
