People who enjoy drawing mustaches on their fingers might have finally met their finger-illustrating match with FingerFace. The app lets you take a photo of your fingers and then decorate the digits with a number of items.
If that sounds like a thin concept for an app, well, it is and it isn’t. FingerFace gives users 70 different faces, 35 different hairstyles and 70 different accessories to choose from when creating their fancy fingers. That’s a fairly large amount of options, and users can create angry, bashful or happy fingers with unique styles all their own. The customization in the app is hard to beat.
On the other hand, you can only use a photo you select from your iPhone library or a photo you take specifically within the app. That means any really creative images using overlays or multiple fingers flying in different directions simply aren’t possible right now unless you doll them up well before they enter the app. It’s not a deal breaker for such an inexpensive app, but it does curtail the potential options available.
Otherwise, FingerFace is easy to use. Even a novice could get a decent-looking finger design up and running in a few minutes, and the app lets you upload the photo directly to Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, so you don’t have to wait a second to share it.
If you’re looking for a way to make a few silly images and kill some time, FingerFace fits the bill. It’s not the deepest photo-editing tool, but it’s good at what it does and should provide a laugh for the whole family.
