WaveDeck Voice Messenger (Free)
Thanks to Appolicious user sammysammy for bringing WaveDeck Voice Messenger to our attention. This handy app reinvents SMS and text messaging by using voice instead of typing. It offers a slick, push-to-talk (PTT) walkie-talkie interface, so all you need to do is hold down a button and start talking. The audio quality is crisp and clear, and group messaging is available. WaveDeck makes communicating fun and is quicker and more efficient than typing out messages over and over again.

Smarty Cursive ($1.99)
Smarty Cursive comes to us via Appolicious user SmartDeveloper. The iPad-only app is aimed at kids and teaches them how to write using cursive characters in both upper- and lower-case. Smarty Cursive can supplement what kids have learned at school already, but can also be valuable for children who have yet to be exposed to cursive writing. According to the developers, children exposed to cursive handwriting lessons vs. keyboard recognition showed greater activity in the part of the brain that controls language comprehension, motor-related processes and speech-associated gestures.

Gluey ($0.99)
Thanks to Appolicious user KenL for showcasing the game Gluey from MobileAge, Inc. Gluey isn’t your typical puzzle game – it will certainly get you thinking. The glueys are trapped in a variety of containers and it’s your job to rescue them while they slosh, splat, split and glorp together. You’ll need your thinking cap on and bear in mind gravity while encountering the occasional thermonuclear explosion. Oh, there is also toxic waste, skulls and locks, too… yikes!

Trip Splitter ($1.99)
Appolicious user MissGamer introduced us to Trip Splitter from DC Software Arts. Trip Splitter offers an easy way to manage expenses while traveling with friends. It’s simple and intuitive to use because it lets you specify and manage expense items including who paid for them and who participated. At any point, you simply just turn the iPhone or iPad sideways to see the simplest number of payments for everyone to get even. In addition, you can attach photos of receipts or events associated with an expense item, or email the current status of the trip expenses and splits at any time.
