Evernote says Hello to Food

Evernote is best known as the company behind the hugely popular note-taking and productivity app of the same name. It has been a big hit on both the iOS and Android platforms.

Today, at the Le Web conference in Paris, the company is showcasing two brand new apps for the iPhone called Evernote Hello and Evernote Food.

Both apps are about helping you remember things more simply and make full use of the iPhone and iPod Touch cameras. Evernote Hello is useful if you meet someone new, say at a business meeting. You can shoot a photo of them and add pertinent information like their name and various notes surrounding your circumstances of meeting, and they are stored within the app to recall at a later time. Here’s a brief video from the makers to explain a bit more about how it works:

Evernote Food, on the other hand, taps into the ever-growing trend for photographing food and meals, but with more of an element of remembering. Say you have a great meal with friends somewhere and want to remember a certain dish you loved, or that a specific wine the restaurant offered that went great with said meal. The app lets you shoot images, add notes and location details, and then you can recall it later if you want to return. Once again, the folks at Evernote offer this useful video to demonstrate how it works:

Both of these new Evernote apps sync flawlessly with your other Evernote notes and make it easy to share your findings and thoughts with your friends and business associates. Both apps are free, so if you’re already a keen Evernote user, they’re well worth trying out.

Get sharing, people.
