Evernote keeps you focused

Between work, family, friends and your softball team, you probably have a lot to remember.  Evernote won’t let you forget.

It’s an extension of the note-taking Web site Evernote.com and takes their motto “Remember everything” to a new level.  The Evernote app makes the Evernote service even more useful.  I can whip out my iPhone and jot down a blog post idea in the app without having to browse the regular site, yet my app idea will sync to the site for future reference.

An Evernote.com account is free but necessary to use the Evernote iPhone app.

You can jot down text notes, record quick voice notes, snap pictures, and sync it with your Evernote.com account instantly.  You’re also able to upload pictures from your iPhone’s library and tag notes. You can search by tag, date, notebook or the location the note was taken.

One of the niftiest features is the ability to save notes for offline access. Simply click the star icon on the note and it’s saved locally on your iPhone for easy access when you’re in the subway or on Grandpa’s farm.  You can keep track of your Evernote.com account info as well, including how many notes you have.

The syncing is speedy for the most part but can vary depending on your connection. And, in general, the Evernote app’s overall operation could be a little faster.

If you’ve always on the go and need to jot down information, Evernote is the app for you. You won’t forget anything ever again.
