ESPN Bracket Bound brings the NCAA tournament and the sports leader together

In ESPN Bracket Bound 2012, March Madness gets covered in a blanket of ESPN coverage and the results are predictably pleasing. ESPN has done a tremendous job creating uniformity among their apps, from ESPN ScoreCenter to ESPN Radio and now Bracket Bound. If you’ve used one of these apps, any of the others will be immediately familiar and simple. If you’ve never used an ESPN app, they’re designed so well that it doesn’t take long to become acclimated.

Bracket Bound’s main tab is a “top news” style slideshow of important headlines, but the meat of the app lies in the subsequent tabs. Users can pick a favorite team to follow and then check out an entire tab devoted to that team complete with roster, schedule, news, videos, pictures and real-time discussion.

Other tabs show the day’s scoreboard of NCAA Tournament and NIT scores, videos of game highlights, top news headlines and a rolling Twitter feed of ESPN analysts’ thoughts on the tournament. If there’s an area of the tournament omitted here, it’s that there are no streaming audio or video options available, likely due to ESPN not owning the rights to the games themselves.

If you’re looking for a thrifty way to keep your eye on every bit of the NCAA Tournament, then ESPN bracket Bound 2012 makes for a terrific companion. What it lacks in multimedia options it makes up for in easy-to-understand content and the addition of ESPN personalities providing near-instant analysis via Twitter.
