iShow Facebook (iPhone) Free (was $1.99)
With all the media Facebook allows its users to share, sorting through it all – or even finding it – on an iPhone can be kind of difficult. That’s specifically true for videos posted to Facebook, but even sorting past regular status updates to find media can be a challenge.
Enter iShow, which skips the text on Facebook and goes right for the photos and videos. The app is free for a time and lists your friends’ recently uploaded media by what has hit Facebook most recently. Utilities
ACT The Millennium Trilogy (iPhone) Free (was $3.99)
“The Millennium Trilogy” is a series of books written by author Stieg Larsson, the first of which, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, recently was made into a critically-acclaimed movie. The app has e-reader versions of all three novels in the series. And it’s free.
This isn’t exactly the greatest of e-books – the formatting is a little weird, and it doesn’t include some of the cooler control functions like swipe page-turning that other similar apps include. But it’s hard to argue with three best-selling novels for the cost of nothing. Healthcare and Fitness
iSnooze! (iPhone) Free (was $1.99)
iSnooze! has two functions for people who could use a hand when it comes to sleeping. First, the app is a sound generator that includes several soothing sounds meant to make falling asleep earlier – sounds that include replications of an airplane cabin, the sea shore, a river and a distant thunderstorm. Set a timer for about how long you think it’ll take you to fall asleep and iSnooze! generates sound until it hits the time, then turns off.
But waking up is important, too – so iSnooze! also has a built-in alarm clock to help make sure you don’t get too comfortable and peaceful.

Twistrix (iPhone) Free (was $0.99)
Here’s a free offering for puzzle game enthusiasts. Twistrix plays a little like a Rubik’s Cube – the game has a cylinder that has columns of colored balls on each of four sides. The object is to rotate each section of the cylinder to move all the balls of the same color into a single row.
The game includes a timer that keeps track of how long it takes you to complete each puzzle, allowing you to try to improve your time on multiple runs. Twistrix is pretty simple, which makes it good for a short diversion.
