Pac-Man (iPad) $0.99 (was $4.99)
This game shouldn’t need too much explanation. Pac-Man for iPad is available for one-fifth the usual price. If you haven’t bought it already, stop reading this and go buy it!
This amped-up version of the arcade classic includes a lot of modern features, including achievements, leaderboards, and social networking connectivity that allow you to make and add “friends” within the game.
Schedule Plus (iPhone) Free (was $3.99)
Schedule Plus has one very clear purpose: it’s an app designed to help workers keep track of the days they take off. The app divides days off into specific categories (sick, personal, holiday, etc.) and keeps track of how many off-days you have left in each category. You can also tune it to mark the times you took off on days that weren’t fully used.
It’s kind of a specific problem to address, but Schedule Plus does seem like it does a good job of making something that can be frustrating simple. It’s also free, so it can’t hurt to download if you have some kind of use for an app like this.
ShowAnytime (iPhone) $3.99 (was $7.99)
This presentation app allows you to plug your iPhone into a projector and instantly give a presentation. It displays what will appear on the projector screen on your iPhone at the same time, allowing you to control what the audience sees, and ShowAnytime includes a few other interesting features that elevate its worth.
For one, you can use the iPhone as a laser pointer using the touch screen. Also, ShowAnytime includes a file transfer function over Wi-Fi, which can come in handy. The app supports PowerPoint and PDF files, so as long as you’re working in those formats, this app could be useful in a pinch.
Insurance Saver (iPhone) Free (was $1.99)
To describe this as a bill tracking app is more accurate than Insurance Saver’s name, which suggests more interaction with your insurance provider. This app actually is just about keeping track of what you owe on your insurance policy, when it expires, when the bills are due, and other hard-to-remember information that can be useful to have on-hand.
It’s another highly specific app that not everyone really needs, but there are certainly people out there who suffer from insurance bill-paying and policy-expiring headaches, so here’s an app that helps solve those problems – for free.
