On the cheap today, pick up an app that lets you build quick presentations with your iPad and share them with your iPhone, or trick potential iPad thieves into giving you information about where your device has gotten to. Check them out in today’s Download Discounts.
QuickPresentation (iPad) $0.99 (was $3.99)
The name pretty much explains this app — iPad owners can put together solid PowerPoint-style presentations with this app with many different options. You can develop slides with various different looks, add photos, record audio and add running text.
Some of the best aspects of QuickPresentation are those that allow you to share presentations. Users can quickly send full files by email, upload them to FTP servers, and even bounce them to other mobile devices such as the iPhone for quick reference and storage.
Sleepmaker All in One (iPhone) $2.99 (was $3.99)
Add another machine to the list of things an iPhone can become with the addition of a single app: Sleepmaker All in One makes your phone into an ambient noise generator.
The app includes six different ambient sounds to help you fall asleep, plus a white noise generator. You can also cross-fade different tracks to combine them for an optimal, sleepy background-noise environment. Sleepmaker will run in the background on the iPhone 4, and there’s a standby mode and sleep timer so the app doesn’t sap your battery while you’re sleeping.
TapTrace HD (iPad) Free (was $3.99)
Say your iPad is lost or stolen. You hop on a computer and fire up the TapTrace website, log in to your account, and send a message to your iPad. If your would-be tablet thief is dumb enough to open the message on their cool new device, your TapTrace app zaps GPS info to your account.
And if the person with your iPad isn’t less devious and more good Samaritan, he or she can message you back to let you know your device is safe, without getting hold of any of your personal information. Best of all, this little bit of added insurance won’t cost you anything.
