Download Discounts for Nov. 5: Twitbit, iMeet, SquareLog

Snag an app that gives you Twitter on your iPhone with push notifications, plus a few other location-based gems in today’s Download Discounts.

Twitbit (iPhone) $1.99 (was $2.99)

There are lots of Twitter clients out there, and Twitbit hits the same notes as most of them. The app makes it easy to update to the social networking site from your mobile device, and supports multiple accounts and geotagging tweets.

But the coolest thing about Twitbit is that it fully supports push notifications. The app monitors your mentions and direct messages and keeps you informed of when people are talking to you. It’s a cool feature for keeping up on Twitter, and the app gets a lot of other things right as well.

iMeet (iPhone) Free (was $0.99)

When you turn on iMeet, your iPhone’s GPS information is funneled to your friends, allowing them to see your location (and letting you see theirs, if they iMeet also) so you can meet-up or share other geographical information.

You can add unlimited friends to iMeet to share information with, and the app allows you to toggle between different kinds of Google Maps to keep track of your friends the way you want. There aren’t a ton of different features available, but the ability to share geotagging info with as many people as you want, for free, makes up for it.

SquareLog (iPhone) $0.99 (was $1.99)

SquareLog is basically the same as Foursquare, with a key difference — this app lets you mark your check-ins with photos, an ability Foursquare doesn’t currently support.

The app lets you choose multiple photo and saves them all on the SquareLog website. It lets you check-in normally, but also includes functions that let you upload multiple photos, or browse Wikipedia’s points of interest for what places to check out in your area.
