It’s always a good time, tooling around in a tank and blowing things up. For the rest of this week, you can do that for free, with 3D graphics and top-down arcade-style play.
You fight in your tank war using dual-stick controls, and the game comes filled with historically accurate vehicles out of World War II. There are also tons of stages to play through to keep you blasting away for quite a while.

It’s always good to keep an emergency contact list in your phone or wallet, in case of the worst case — a car accident or an injury — that will allow first-responders, doctors and police to notify people important in your life if anything ever happens.
As with all good apps, iEmegency takes a good idea and runs with it. In addition to having a list of emergency contacts, you can input insurance and doctor information into the app to save it for your convenience, and set the app to allow you to make one-button emergency calls for when the situation is dire. iEmergency is free for 48 hours, so check back later if it’s not showing up in the App Store discounted just yet.
100 Horror Stories, Sounds, and Scares (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)
Get this one while it’s free, because nothing is a pretty sweet deal for this app. It’s actually a book app and comes loaded with content: first and foremost, 100 full-length horror novels, novellas and short stories. For free!
Not enough? Add some novelty — there’s a “Prank” section and more than 40 horror sound effects in the app, as well. Plus there are a bunch of cool features to make the app work well, including adjustable text size and continuous or page-by-page scrolling.
