Smoody (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)
If you’ve played Cut The Rope, you’ll have an idea of what to expect from Smoody. Throughout the game, your task is to roll a round character to the end of each level, and you do so by drawing lines through objects on the screen to cut them. Ropes, wooden beams and other objects fall in different ways to give your smoody momentum and carry him to the end of each stage.
Smoody includes 80 puzzle stages across four worlds, and packs Game Center support so you can see how you stack up on the game’s online leaderboards against players the world over. It also includes Facebook and Twitter integration so you can share you scores and achievements with others.
StarDunk Gold (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $1.99)
The physics-based basketball hoops shooter StarDunk Gold is all about playing with other people — over 3 million of them, going by developer Godzilab’s numbers. The super-simple title is a lot like shooting HORSE in the driveway, except you don’t have to be a hoops star to be good. StarDunk is controlled with simple physics — touch the screen and drag a line to adjust your shot’s power and trajectory, and make baskets to score points.
Playing online and doing well can earn you as many as 20 unlockable basketballs that each have different traits and capabilities. You can also create basketballs of your own to use with different abilities to help you climb StarDunk’s Game Center-supported leaderboards.
Bricks Tower (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)
Combine the game play style of Tetris, with blocks falling from the sky that can be interlocked to create a structure, with that of Jenga. As blocks hit the game’s base platform, you’ll build a tower as high as possible to keep your score going — but one wrong move and the whole thing can collapse, resulting in game over. You’ll use touch controls to move blocks around and rotate them, then drop them into place carefully; but once they hit the platform, the physics take over and they can fall off the platform.
As you build your towers, you’ll unlock objectives that let you do more with your towers and get higher scores. The game also supports OpenFeint leaderboards and achievements, allowing you to challenge friends and work to improve your skills.
