We’ve got a couple of free puzzle games for you in today’s Download Discounts. Check out Vizati for its story, graphics and gravity-based gameplay. Puzzle Pond is a good new edition to the libraries of match-three game fans. Rounding out the list is iPostCard4U, an app that lets you create and send digital postcards using stock photos or shots you’ve taken yourself.
Vizati (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)
Vizati is a bit of a weird puzzle game, combining story with a puzzle element in which you need to manipulate a 2D square that has smaller, colored squares within it. Tilting, flipping and shoving the puzzle can make the colored squares fall together, and when they touch each other, they’re eliminated. Getting rid of the colored squares solves the puzzle, advancing the story forward.
There are 100 puzzle levels to play through in Vizati, and it includes two different arcade game modes. It also has leaderboards that achievements care of Game Center and a rich graphical and musical style.
Puzzle Pond (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)
There’s a pond full of animals, and you need to make them kiss. That’s the premise at work in Puzzle Pond, in which you’ll swipe different animals to move them around the pond in order to make matches. Pairing animals of different types eliminates them from the pond, but you can only move certain animals so far. If you’ve spent any time with Bejeweled, you’ll recognize the match-three mechanics at work here.
Puzzle Pond packs two different game modes: a speed mode in which you’ll make as many different matches as you can as quickly as you can, and a puzzle mode in which you’ll need to determine the order to make matches in order to make sure you can complete the puzzle. The game also includes Game Center support for achievements and leaderboards.
iPostCard4U (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $1.99)
Create and send digital post cards from your iPhone or iPad with iPostCard4U, an app that contains more than 60 postcard designs and has a whole lot of options built in. You can design the postcard pretty much from the ground up, choosing and adjusting a photo and design, adding text and eventually sending off your message by email or SMS message.
Customization is king with iPostCard4U. The app packs more than 270 images and 110 stamps that can be added to a postcard, and you can pull in your own photos from your camera roll in order to fill out the selection if need be. There are also lots of supported fonts and colors, allowing you to make just about every aspect of a postcard your own.
