It’s another triple-threat of casual games for today’s Download Discounts list. Kuvio is a fast-action matching puzzle that’ll get you enthralled, Fragger uses Angry Birds-style physics for its grenade-throwing puzzles, and Sheeple requires you to clear a path for your not-too-bright sheep people to trek to reach the exit of each level. Check out all three — and download them all for nothing.
Kuvio (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)
Kuvio’s the kind of game that can get addictive in a hurry. The game is minimalistic and simple enough: you’re presented with a grid of light buttons, which can be tapped and turned purple. A timer runs on the side of the screen, and at the top, you’re presented with a picture that shows a pattern of the same grid as you have, but with some of the buttons turned purple. Your job is to replicate the pattern you see as fast as you can.
Each time you beat the timer on the side of the screen, you receive points. Fail, and you get nothing. In addition to its speed mode, Kuvio also has a memory mode that plays more like games of that type.
Fragger Desert Strike (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)
Another 40 levels of Fragger are available for free today, giving you more grenade-lobbing physics puzzle-solving action to keep you busy. You’re a soldier with only grenades at your disposal, and enemy combatants that need blowing up. Trouble is, they’re hard to get to, protected by structures, or behind walls. In a style of play not unlike Angry Birds, you determine the angle of the arc of your grenade throw, and how much force it needs to get where its going.
Its features aren’t too involved, but Fragger does offer some nice perks in addition to its challenging puzzles. You can set your own music for the game, and the in-game music will automatically turn off if you’re playing tracks from your library. It includes Game Center leaderboards and achievements, and gives you the ability to see the solutions to levels that might have you stuck, so you’ll never hit a level you can’t get through.
Sheeple (iPhone) Free (was $1.99)
This Lemmings-like game has a simple premise and simple gameplay — it’s an easy to play puzzler that contains more than 100 levels, OpenFeint and Game Center support to log your high scores and see how you compare with other players.
In each puzzle in Sheeple, you need to help your sheep people make it from one end of the level to the other. They’re not the brightest, so you’ll have to clear them a path, by swiping crates out of the way, melting ice, sending meteors to destroy rocks, and more. You have limited resources when it comes to destroying barricades, and only a limited time to get your sheeple out of each stage. There’s lots of content already here, and you can get more levels through in-app purchase.
