Snag a few low-cost games from today’s Download Discounts list. We’re starting with puzzle platformer Beyond Ynth, which offers 15 hours of gameplay; then move on to Vector Runner, an old-school 3D wireframe game; and finally, snag Etolis: Arena, a two-stick shooter that just got a huge content update. Beyond Ynth (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $1.99)
Puzzle platformer Beyond Ynth has had its price cut to nothing for a limited time, so grab it while you can. The game puts you in control of a bug that has to brave environmental hazards like snow and desert to get to the end of each side-scrolling platformer level. You’ll have to think creatively about how to reach the end of each level by manipulating boxes without getting your bug killed.
Beyond Ynth will keep you busy for quite a while — around 15 hours through 80 levels, according to developer FDG Entertainment. The game also features Game Center support, which gives you access to achievements and leaderboards.
Vector Runner (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)
Have some fun with old school vector 3D graphics in Vector Runner, a game in which you pilot a racer through a wireframe world. You’ll have to avoid obstacles and grab power-ups as you go, picking more and more speed in an attempt to get as far as possible without dying.
In addition to its stylized look, Vector Runner packs some cinematic effects like camera shake and “rumble” reactions on the iPhone to help immerse you in the action. It’s also supported by Game Center, allowing you to track your performance through achievements and leaderboards.
Etolis: Arena (iPhone, iPad) $0.99 (was $1.99)
Battling aliens hasn’t been as cool in a while as it is in Etolis: Arena, a two-stick shooter in which you’ll fight off waves of enemies in a fully 3D environment. High-quality graphics and lots of weapons adorn the game, giving you lots of options to take down the swarms of enemies that come after you in each arena level, where you’re trapped by alien forcing you to fight as a gladiator.
Etolis comes with four game modes for you to play with, and features social media integration with Crystal and Game Center for achievements and leaderboards. It recently received a huge update, filled with new content, weapons, enemies and difficulty modes.
