Yes, ScoreCenter supplies you with the scores from just about every major sporting event you can think of. It’s all the other stuff that’s crammed into this iPad Sports app that makes it sound so cool.
Top of the list is the ability to watch video highlights of various games, as well as get previews of games that are upcoming and recaps from ones you may have missed. It seems like ScoreCenter XL has a lot of content, and it’s customizable by team and sport so keeping track of your favorites is pretty easy.

RapidFireRound (iPhone) Free (was $0.99)
There are something like 700 multiple-choice quiz questions to be found in RapidFireRound, an app made for people who like game shows, lightning rounds and logical thinking.
It’s a nearly endless quiz show. RapidFireRound will just keep sending questions at you for to answer of a variety of types. Some are logic questions, while others just require trivia or general knowledge answers. It doesn’t seem particularly difficult – you don’t need a Ph.D. to compete like those people on Jeopardy! – but with 700 questions, the app should be capable of delivering a challenge.
Dance Pet Piano (iPhone, iPad) Free
Think of Dance Pet Piano as kind of like one of those Disney sing-a-longs, in which the little bouncing ball hops over the printed lyrics at the bottom of the screen while the characters in the cartoon sing the song.
Dance Pet Piano is a game meant to teach kids to play the piano, and instead of a bouncing ball, which note to play and when is indicated by a cute little dancing frog pet thing.
The app includes around 20 popular children’s songs to learn to play on a virtual piano interface displayed on the screen. The keyboard only displays eight keys (it’s for pre-schoolers, after all), so it’s pretty simple, and the whole thing seems ludicrously cute and brightly colored.
I’m not sure about the soundness of the idea of handing a preschooler an iPad or iPhone, but if you can trust your little one, this app might be a fun way to introduce them to the world of music.

Keyboard Guitar 2 (iPad) $0.99
That’s right – turn the iPad into a keytar. I don’t know what else you need to know.
This app doesn’t include a whole lot of other features, other than a tutorial mode to teach you the basics of how a keytar works and the ability to record anything you play. The developer notes that it has more features planned, like the ability to play with others over the Internet. Mostly, though, you just get the ability to play keytar on the iPad. Sounds pretty great.

Not So Trivial (iPad) $3.99
Here’s another trivia quiz game entry, except Not So Trivial, as the name suggests, takes itself pretty seriously. Its 550 or so questions cover a bunch of academic categories, including Physics, Biology, Computers, Math, World History, Psychology and Religion. There are more than that, I just didn’t feel like listing them all.
But it’s clear that the design of this app is less about fun and more about testing your knowledge and teaching you something new in the meantime. The game features customizable difficulty and can be played with up to four people. It also keeps track of each player’s statistics over time, so you can see just how smart or dumb you might be, and how much smarter Not So Trivial is making you.
