The first step in using Doodle Buddy is selecting a background, with options ranging from a plain, white screen to an oceanfront vista to a slate chalkboard. You can also use pictures from your photo roll.
Then, let the doodling begin. There are multiple doodling options, including a paintbrush that can be adjusted by brush-stroke width and color. A smear tool allows you to smudge over anything you draw with a very cool effect.
Another fun feature is the stamp tool, which gives you 24 mini graphic icons such as a sun or a heart that you can stamp around your doodle with a tap of your finger.
Don’t love any of your drawings? There are multiple erase options that make fixing mistakes easy. First, there is the eraser tool itself, which allows you to erase with precision. Then, there’s the back arrow, which allows you to undo your work step by step. Lastly, there is the etch-a-sketch shake. With this nifty feature, you just shake your iPhone, and the entire screen is wiped clean.
If you are feeling a little lonely in your doodling, the app also allows you to connect with other artists and doodle together. You can also save and store your favorite doodles in your photo roll.
