It seems that anybody can be a star if you pair them with a talented partner and shellac them with spray tanner and sparkles. But where are all the stars and dances in this free Dancing with the Stars app?
The app ties into the popular ABC TV show of the same name, allowing iPhone users to use text messaging to vote on the performances of their favorite couple.
But the app should offer more, and that’s where this judge’s paddle gives it a score of 1. There are videos, but they consist of 30-second clips when a dancer is eliminated. There is a section to learn the dances featuring one dance photo and then written instructions for learning the dance. But there are no videos of the stars dancing.
I’m sure ABC has a boatload of dancing footage that they could have included here to make the app more appealing, including some with stars from past seasons of the show. Isn’t the whole point to dance with the stars?
If you are addicted to the show, you will probably like flipping through the photo galleries and reading the bios of the stars left on the dance floor. Beyond that, this app lacks the glitter.
