Finding apps for your iPhone and Android-based mobile devices just got easier – and a lot more fun!
Appolicious is proud to announce the launch of new features for Curated iPhone Apps and Curated Android Apps. The new features invite experts and users alike to rank and detail your favorite five apps for any number of categories. Additionally, our new Developer Directory will connect individuals and businesses interested in making apps directly to application developers.
The notion of curated app pages on Appolicious was inspired by prominent blogger and tech luminary Robert Scoble. After spending time on Appolicious with CEO Alan Warms last fall, Scoble remarked that he was personally looking for “someone who really knows Twitter to tell (him) what their top five Twitter apps are.”
Now Scoble and everyone else has the opportunity to share their favorite app selections with one another. Whether you are interested in Business Apps from a serial entrepreneur, Toddler Apps from a mother of three young children, or just want to rock out with social networking guru Tara Hunt’s five favorite Karaoke Apps, Appolicious is the place to start and constantly refresh your app journey. And this is only the beginning!
While experts and celebrity guests will regularly tap into Appolicious with their “Top Five” suggestions, the Curated App pages are where anyone from any walk of life can share with the world why they think their app selections are the best.
“The goal of Appolicious is to solve the increasingly difficult problem of finding just the right app. A simple rating is not enough to fully understand what an app does and whether or not it will meet your needs; you need to hear from real users who share your passions or problems,” says Warms. “For instance, if you need to find apps to keep your kids occupied during travel and want an honest opinion on the best apps to do that – you’ll easily find it in our Curated App Lists,” he adds.
New directory connects businesses with developers
Also launching today is a Developer Directory on Appolicious that connects businesses and individuals with application developers. The directory lets anyone interested in making an app browse through app categories for developers and search by name, location and attributes.
Developers interested in a free listing can add themselves to the Appolicious Developer Directory by uploading their information here.
