Whether you’re a fan of the Beatles or enamored of Cirque du Soleil’s theatrics, you’ll want to find a place on your iPhone or iPod Touch for the new free app, The Beatles Love, created via a partnership between Apple and Cirque du Soleil and using Mobile Roadie’s technology.
Focused around Cirque’s stage show “The Beatles LOVE,” currently running at Las Vegas’ Mirage Hotel & Casino, The Beatles Love app is jam-packed with content. While you’re browsing the app, Love will play excerpts from the “Love” album. If you hear a song that’s not yet in your iTunes library, you can head to the music page, which offers iTunes download links to all of the album’s tracks. Users who already own the songs will be able to listen to the full-length tracks pulled from their library.

Behind the sounds of “Love,” the app features a good selection of videos, including clips from the feature film “All Together Now,” which documented the making of the Cirque du Soleil show, and scenes from the show itself. The only downside I found was a bit of sluggish load time when switching screens or loading videos. A photo library is available, as well, and offers images and descriptions from the stage show. Within the “Love Insider” section, users are privy to bios of the cast and creators working on “The Beatles LOVE.”
Beyond the general content of The Beatles Love, the app offers a commenting function on every aspect of the app, where users can come together by leaving feedback on photos, post reactions to videos, or like songs through Twitter or Facebook Connect.
