It is finally time to carve some turkeys. Being less than a week out from Thanksgiving means that our top iOS app of the week might be easy to guess, but we promise not to load up on stuffing apps after that. In fact, this week’s top apps include an apartment finder, an update to a technology news website’s app, a dating app update and a way to turn your photos into tangible art. Now excuse us, we’re going to finish cooking while you read.
Butterball Cookbook Plus ($4.99)
Gobble, gobble, app fans! Butterball Cookbook Plus has a plethora of recipes for Thanksgiving if you’re looking to switch up your normal Thanksgiving routine. The app comes a myriad of methods to prep your bird alongside voice-command instructions, so your iPhone won’t get covered in turkey juice while you’re cooking. The more prepared chefs should also appreciate that they can store a set of recipes. Butterball Cookbook Plus also has the requisite timers, substitution lists, and measurement conversion charts that a amateur chefs need.
Photos to Art (Free)
Similar to Mosaic by Mixbook, Photos to Art is another app that takes your digital world and gives it some physical heft. The app lets you select your favorite pictures off of your iPhone or Instagram and then have them printed on a canvas, wood mount, or poster. Sizes of the pictures can range from 8×10 to 20×30 and if you have an iPhone 5, you can even get your panoramic photos printed. Cost for the actual printing ranges from $35 and up for posters to $60 and up for a framed photo. While that’s not cheap, it’s pretty remarkable you can turn your wacky night out into a mural that could actually appear on your wall, right from your iPhone.
eHarmony (Free)
eHarmony, aka “The dating website you have to pay money to use,” updated its app in a major way with some nice features that will hopefully get you off of the site even faster than before. For starters, the app now support larger pictures, so you can be extra sure of what you’re getting into before you meet someone. eHarmony also added some new menus, including a quick access menu to jump from section to section easier than before and an activity feed so you can check out people just a bit quicker. It won’t make the act of actually courting a date any easier, but no app in the world can help that.
TechCrunch (Free)
After only being available on the iPad in its original iteration, TechCrunch’s app now includes iPhone support so you can keep up on all the latest mobile news wherever you are. They added a new video button on the home screen to make it easier than ever to watch videos from TechCrunch TV. Now you can access the latest news from TechCrunch.com or the TechCrunch Twitter feed. The app even includes a trending list so you can quickly see what’s hot in the tech world.
Lovely – Find Homes and Apartments for Rent (Free)
