Sun Tzu’s “Art of War” is a timeless text, so it’s not much of a surprise that there would be be an iPhone app devoted to it.
What is more surprising is seeing a business app using its text as its main focal point.
Simpaddico’s Art of Business app does exactly that by compiling over 100 quotes from “The Art of War” which relate to business. The quotes the app picks range from interesting to bizarre, at least as they relate to business.
While some may find it enlightening to read quotes like “Bestow rewards without respect to customary practice. Publish orders without respect to precedent,” they may feel like they’re wasting their time when they arrive at “You cannot stop innovation.”
Luckily, users can label their favorite quotes from the Art of Business so they can keep coming back to them more frequently. The business app also has a feature allowing users to remove certain quotes from the set, so you never had to see them again if you don’t want to.
The Art of Business doesn’t exactly fall into the category of a must-have app, but if you were looking for a way to motivate someone with an interesting self-help app, you could do worse than cherry-pick from Sun Tzu.
