Watch your SimCity rise as you allocate residential and industrial zones, erect schools and hospitals, supply water and electricity and establish your mayoral greatness.
But beware, natural disaster, pollution and union strikes are waiting to challenge you.
The SimCity app is a modified version of the classic urban planning game perfectly suited for the iPhone. I grew up playing a console version of SimCity, so jumping back in was a delight.
If you’re inexperienced with SimCity, don’t hesitate to try it out. It is one of the most engaging games out there, and entertains for hours.
The one downside to SimCity is how addictive it is.
Still, it does take a while to get your urban planning skills in order, so building your city takes time. For the impatient, SimCity provides starter cities.
The graphics aren’t cutting edge, but they don’t need to be. The animation is entertaining, as you watch cars crawl the streets, apartment complexes rise to the sky and fires bring them all collapsing down. Okay, presumably you’re a good enough mayor to avoid disasters, but if you can’t, they are fun enough to watch that you won’t get frustrated.
SimCity is an incredible game. You may experience urban greatness, but even if you fail, you’ll never have more fun running yourself into financial ruin.
