I suppose it was inevitable that someone would use the touch screen to make an iPhone app where you pop bubble wrap. If you had been wondering to yourself lately, “Why can’t I pop bubble wrap all the time, even in the absence of real bubble wrap?” Well, you can stop asking, because the BubbleWrap iPhone app (free) delivers on exactly that idea.
You’ll have 45 seconds to pop as many bubble wrap bubbles as you can. The bubbles you pop re-inflate, so the game turns into a sort of endless “whack-a-mole” of finger-tapping digital bubbles.
It doesn’t even seem worth it to pay attention to which of the bubbles are actually re-inflating. Instead, the best strategy might just be to tap your iPhone screen until your hand is numb, and it just might be after 45 seconds of intense tapping.
Graphically, this looks about as good as can be expected. The sound effect of the bubble wrap popping sounds right, too. The game isn’t deep by any means, and there is no challenge involved outside of trying to top your high score, but if you have the urge to pop some bubble wrap, this could be your go to iPhone app.
