Goodreads (iOS, Android)
Goodreads is a platform that allows users to discover new books and easily organize them into virtual bookshelves, as well as keeping a reading log and writing reviews for books they have read. The app also includes a Facebook style timeline so you can keep track of the books your friends are reading. A really nice feature is the ability to set a yearly reading goal and share this with friends, this is a great motivator as they can see if you’re falling behind on your goal or even if you’re flying ahead.
Serial Box (iOS)
Serial Box is a service that completely changes your reading experience to one that can be compared more to watching your favourite TV drama with stories being delivered to you in weekly episodes. The service works by the user picking a series they are interested in, they can then read the first episode for free, after this you have to subscribe in order to continue receiving weekly episodes. Episodes are also offered in audio format for those who simply don’t have time to sit down and read every week.
Unfortunately, Android users are going to have to wait and hope that this unique service will be available on their devices soon.
