Vanity Fair Hollywood: Oscars® Edition (free) is the only app you’ll need to keep up with all of the buzz about the most exciting night for movies. With it, you can review the nominated movies and actors, watch trailers, and vote for who you think will win. With Facebook integration, you can see how your friends have voted, and share your choices. Even though there are more L’Oréal ads than you’ll ever want to see, it’s still worth having around on the big night.
The main idea of this app is to be able to vote for who you think will win the Oscar® in each category. There are 24 categories to make your choices in, each with multiple nominees. You can read a brief summary about the nominees. You can even watch a trailer of each movie. The app will also show you what percentage of votes a specific nominee has received. After you’ve logged into Facebook, you can also see how your friends have voted.

There are some other interesting sections of the app. The “Leaders” section will show you who, among your friends, are in the lead for the most correct predictions of the winners. In “Buzz,” you can view live tweets about Hollywood news from Vanity Fair. There is also a “Features” section that contains a few Oscar® party videos and photos from previous years. It’s nicely presented, however, this section might be the most annoying one, with so many ads tossed in. There are 10 slides, five of which are ads for L’Oréal.
This app is definitely not the prettiest, most intuitive or the most stable. Yet, it’s still worth having and using during Oscar® night.
