Battery app Juice is a looker, not a doer

Using Juice, a battery app by Hypertron Inc., is like making a sandwich. When you use fresh ingredients, you get a lunch that tastes as delicious as it looks. When you use ingredients past their expiration date, you get a sandwich that tastes like, well, a foot.

The same can be said of Juice. The app’s accuracy is based on the duration times you enter for each of the several categories. Those include Wi-Fi use, game playing, audio and video.
The Juice app instructions state “This app is not a diagnostic tool.”

So why would I want it?

Part of the answer lies in Juice’s brilliant graphics and sound effects. Juice has three major themes, each with four variations.

A “Fuel Gauge” needle goes up with a race car revving sound. The “Fuel Gauge” comes in four colors, as does the “Battery” theme: green, blue, pink and purple. “Battery” charges up with colored light as you hear an electronic pulsar buzz

Knowing how long your battery will last using different functions on an iPod Touch or iPhone is helpful. But the Juice app is only as accurate as the data you enter.

If you want one of the best looking and sounding battery apps available, Juice is for you. If you want to actually know how long your battery will last while performing different functions, Juice is not worth your 99 cents.
