Awesome Files HD a great way to transfer files to your iPad

There are plenty of apps that allow you to view your computer’s files on your iPad. Some of them are pretty straightforward, while others include a ton of extra features. Awesome Files HD (99 cents) falls somewhere in the middle, and looks great on the iPad.

The app includes a brief tutorial in the form of a slideshow that introduces you to the main features and explains how to set up a connection with your Mac. The interface is pretty nice, with only a few buttons and options, making the app extremely accessible to all types of users. The hardcore users will probably miss some functionality, but the basic necessities are there. You can view, download, open, email and even edit some files right from inside the app.

You can get your files onto your iPad a couple of different ways. Of course, you can connect your iPad to your Mac directly via USB and transfer files using iTunes. You can also transfer files wirelessly using a Wi-Fi connection and a small, free program on your Mac. Both methods work well, but of course, I prefer moving files wirelessly.

When viewing files, you can choose to download them directly to your iPad. These files are then saved in a “downloads” folder and can be moved and organized however you please. You can also cut, copy and paste your files around different folders. Your files can also be emailed out.

Overall, Awesome Files HD functions very well. It doesn’t do much more than most other file viewer apps out there, but the user-friendly interface allows the app to be used by more regular folks who just those who want an easy way to put their important files on their iPad. If you’re looking for a file organization solution for your iPad, I highly recommend checking this one out.
