Traffic.com Pro, which is the new paid version of Traffic.com, is an app that commuters who drive to work will want to download. While there is a free version available as well, I found the absence of ads on the paid version to be well worth the $2.99 it costs to download.
The app features real-time traffic updates so you’ll never be stuck listening to the radio waiting for your route. Instead, just open the app and zoom in on your location. Or, set the app to read your position, and it will show you the traffic around your area. The app will help plan the best route for you to take, so you can get home to dinner at the fastest possible speed. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve waited in traffic because of an accident and thought, “I wish I had checked out the travel times first.”
This app also includes a couple of other great features. If you are in a city you don’t know, browse the city’s traffic info to choose routes that have less traffic. The app will show you regularly congested areas so that you can avoid them. Just choose the city and the information is all there in front of you. You can also go on to the Traffic.com Web site and create a custom route that the Traffic.com Pro app will look over, and it will let you know about coming delays. One of the best extra features is for nearby merchants and dealers. For example, if your tire blows out and you need to find somewhere close by, the Traffic.com Pro app will tell you where the closest dealer is, as well as tell you about any special discounts, so you can find a new tire fast for the best price.
