I once walked into a pole while walking my dog because I was too busy sending a text message to notice where I was going. So I could only laugh and appreciate the thoughtfulness of the app called Type n Walk.
Type n Walk uses the iPhone’s camera to create a transparent view of your immediate environment, as if your device were see-through. You can see a pole in the sidewalk while creating a text message, avoiding an embarrassing knot on your forehead.
As thoughtful as Type n Walk is, however, it only works when you have its application open. That means your iPhone will not be a transparent device all the time. Anything you need to type on the phone, you can do so in the Type n Walk app and transfer the text once you have opened another application.
For example, you type the text for an email in Type n Walk then copy and paste that note into your email client to send it on its way. This toggling between apps makes Type n Walk cumbersome to use, even if it is only for walking the dog.
