The Appolicious family of websites, which also includes AndroidApps.com and yap.appolicious.com, today unveiled a new feature that showcases relevant apps to users based on who they follow on the sites.
Similar to the Ping Social Networking service that Apple incorporated within iTunes earlier this month, the new web-based Apps from People You Follow feature now available on Appolicious.com, AndroidApps.com and yap.appolicious.com offers personalized app recommendations to users from people they choose to follow on the sites.
Registered members of the Appolicious family of sites will receive personalized app recommendations based on the app ownership of other members they follow. App Library Builders across each site enable users to dynamically upload and update their app ownership information.
Apps that users already own, have rated it or have said “not interested,” are now showcased with this new feature.
The Apps From People You Follow Feature showcases a constantly updated selection of relevant apps that users can choose to download, rate and review on the network of sites. That ownership information will inform the recommendations those users share with their own followers.
