Apple might be only weeks away from debuting a new app audience measurement tool for developers, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The tool is designed to not only allow for more accurate reporting, but also protect the privacy of consumers relative to existing methods. Earlier this year, Apple said it would eventually do away with the process using Unique Device Indentifiers (UDIDs) to track this date. To date, Apple has not aggressively enforced this.
Developers could get a preview of how this all works as early as Monday, when Apple begins its annual Worldwide Developers Conference.
