As first reported by All Things Digital, Apple will be holding an “Education Event” at the Guggenheim Museum in New York City on January 19.
There is strong speculation that this event will focus on iBooks and iTunes U, and likely the integration of textbooks within iPads and other iDevices.
Accordingly, for those of us chomping at the bit to get details of rumored new iPhone 5s, iPad 3s or full-fledged Apple TVs, it looks like we will have to wait until March for possible new iPad device news, or June when Apple typically hosts its Worldwide Developers Conference.
The January 19 event will be the first major media announcement since the passing of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs last fall.
