Android Apps for Google Business

Business users are finding their mobile phones more useful now than ever before, in part due to Google’s ongoing cross-integration of its own products. The recently launched app store for Google Business demonstrates the company’s desire to provide developers and businesspeople a marketplace for useful apps.

As the Android Market is another great platform for businesspeople on the go, here are some of the top mobile apps that are also available in the new Google Business app store.

Travel Android apps

The TripIt Android app keeps all your travel plans handy.  Free, TripIt Travel Organizer keeps tabs on flight and hotel confirmations, necessary contact information and other items you’ll need while traveling. Email integration lets you build your itinerary remotely, so you don’t forget to include anything.

Expensify is great for business travelers needing to track their spending. Take a photo of your receipts and upload them to Expensify. You can also manually enter information and then check the free Android app or Expensify’s Web site later to manage your account. Managers with expensing team members will find Expensify useful as well.

Android apps for Social Networking

Socialwok isn’t an app found in the Android Market (yet), but it is a business Google app that’s been optimized for Android access.  Socialwok is a free tool that overlays your Google Apps (Docs, Calendar) with a social interface, integrating LinkedIn and other networks for sharing documents, sending messages and the like.

Networking events can be more like trading posts for business cards, making DUB a helpful tool. The free Android app from DubMeNow grants mobile contact exchange on the fly. Send your business card via email, phone or GPS Locate, and the information will be continuously updated on your end, when accessed through DUB.

Productivity Android apps

Telephony Office-LinX is a great app for business users, as it syncs documents, emails, calendar events, instant messaging and more.  While Telephony doesn’t have its own Android app, the free UC Mobile client for Telephony lets you manage your account from your Android phone, making it a helpful utility and productivity app.

HulloMail combines your voicemail with Google Mail, creating a visual voicemail app. Free, this Android app sends all your voice mails to your email so you can access them even when you’re away from your phone. The app itself presents a single access tool for visual voicemail, letting you manage messages without having to dial into the Voicemail service.
