By now, you’ve certainly seen more than a few apps that are little more than shameless promotion. Sometimes, these apps leave you shaking your head (Spin the Coke, anyone?), but occasionally these marketing ploys actually work.
Adidas Outlet Savings falls into the latter category. Sure, its sole purpose is to get you to buy from Adidas, but it’s still something fans of the company will find incredibly useful.
The free app is very basic, and don’t download it expecting pictures of the latest Adidas shoes or anything like that. Instead, it simply gives you coupons and tells you where the closest outlet stores are.
The coupons vary depending on where you’re at, but they range from things like 30 percent off your total purchase to $25 off a purchase of $100 or more. Additionally, some of the coupons can be used multiple times and some only once.
Also, instead of having to print the coupon a bar code pops up on your iPhone. I hope your listening other retailers — let’s save some trees.
The store locator just lists addresses, though if you click an address it opens in a map outside of the app.
That’s really the extent of this app. Pictures of products would be a nice addition, but the purpose of this app seems to be to get you into a store, and I can understand the company’s thinking behind that.
Though this is nothing more than a marketing tool, unlike others, it is a creative one.
