The widely used Evernote service allows you to leave yourself reminders through text, voice, or photos. The ability to sync with the cloud service from your computer to web to your iPad is definitely a plus.

Toodledo also allows you to sync with their cloud based service, but instead of being based around notes or reminders, this service is specifically for creating to-do or task lists, and helping you accomplish them by reminding you of items that are on your “Hotlist”.

Organize your to-do’s by lists for your projects, due dates, starred items, priority items, and tags. If you don’t need a cloud based service, this is a great option.
