A deceptively simple premise is at the heart of DrawRace. As the title suggests, you just draw the path of your race car around the track, before the race even begins. Once the path is drawn in, the race begins and your car follows the track you’ve drawn for it. If the path is a good one, the car will take corners well and pick up a lot of speed; if not, you’ll lose the race.
You get 20 race tracks to play on your own in DrawRace, or you can take the battle to a friend using pass-and-play multiplayer on a single device. There’s also an online multiplayer mode, allowing you to play with opponents around the world.
Drifts (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $0.99)
A simple match-three-ish puzzle game, Drifts is filled with bubbles. You control an orange bubble by sliding your finger around the screen, and you move it to touch green bubbles drifting. Each green bubble you touch sticks to your orange bubble or to other green ones; once you have three or more green bubbles together, you can touch a floating blue one to clear the green bubbles and cash them in for points.
Things get more complicated in Drifts, since there aren’t just green bubbles floating around — there are also pink ones. Touching a pink bubble with your group destroys them and costs you one of your three lives. You’ll have to be careful about how you move your bubbles around while trying to build the biggest combos you can, balancing risk against reward.
My Brute (iPhone, iPad) Free (was $4.99)
My Brute is all about raising and training fighters (called brutes) and sending them off to do battle with other fighters. At start up, you create a dojo and start creating brutes from the nine unlockable characters you can choose from. When you’re ready, you can send your brutes off to get into fights and earn experience points, which you can spend on making your brutes stronger.
There are more than 70 skills and weapons you can earn for your fighter and multiple battle arenas in which to fight that you can unlock as you play the game. You can also invite friends to take part in My Brute and serve as pupils in your dojo and use Facebook to challenge friends. The game also features OpenFeint connectivity.
