If any application comes close to a news junkie’s paradise, it is the News Addict application for the iPhone. The app, created by TapMode, is one-stop-shopping for all the news anyone would want.
The News Addict app features 41 of the top Internet news sites all in one place. Choose among links to the New York Times, CNN, Huffington Post, NPR, Fox News, and many more.
Among notable items missing from the News Addict menu are specialty news magazines like Vanity Fair and the New Yorker, as well as daily newspapers in smaller markets.
The app is well worth the 99-cent price, given its ability to aggregate news. Designed to offer fast access to a number of news sites, the News Addict is a great way to streamline your news diet and eliminate the need to jump from site to site.
Though I couldn’t change the size of the font, articles can be read in landscape view by tilting the iPhone. The News Addict is also designed to use the full screen, which increases its viewing capacity and makes it easier to read.
My only complaint is the lack of customization. The News Addict app will not allow you to change the order of the news sites on the screen, but this is a minor concern given its convenience.
